Biography
As her popularity grew on television, Paris Hilton went on to appear in several other shows such as "Las Vegas", "George Lopez", "Veronica Mars", "The O.C." and "American Dreams". The first four were aired in 2004 and the later was in 2005. As a full-fledged actress, Paris Hilton made her movie debut with a "Sweetie Pie" {2000}, and thereafter appeared in several movies such as "Zoolander" {2001} in a cameo role, "Nine Lives" {2002}, and the "House of Wax" {2005} and "Bottoms Up" {2006}. Paris Hilton is currently awaiting the release of "The Hottie and the Nottie" and "Repo! The Genetic Opera!".
The hot actress has also appeared in a number of musical videos, which include "Just Lose It" by Eminem and "It Girl" by John Oates; and finally came out with her own self-titled debut album, "Paris" in 2006. The album peaked at sixth position on US Billboard 200 and fourth in Canada. The Album released under her own recording company named 'Heiress Records' received mixed reviews and was branded by critics as fresh and fun-filled amidst the releases by Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson. For the sophomore album due to be released in the fall of 2007 Paris is working with music producer Scott Storch.
Incidentally, a number 'Stars are blind' from her debut album came under severe attack for its plagiaristic content from the original number 'Kingston Town' created by Lord Creator. She was even slapped a legal suit under Copyright violation act from Sparta Florida Music Group for plagiarism.
Hilton's business ventures are as varied as her moods. She has created a designer jewelry line for Amazon.com and then created a perfume line for Parlux Fragrances. She collected a variety of designer purses for Samantha Thavasa, a Japanese label and partnered with Hair Tech International for their hair extension division, DreamCatchers. Catching on her popularity, several nightclubs appeared overnight, the first of which were opened in Orlando and Jacksonville in 2005 under the name and style as 'Club Paris'. Hilton has also released an autobiographical book called 'Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue-in-Chic Peek Behind the Pose'.
The book released in 2004 is replete with beautiful color photographs and was co-written by Merle Ginsberg. The book received mixed reviews and was even parodied for its amateurish content on David Letterman's Show. Yet the book became a New York Times bestseller. Encouraged by the success, Paris Hilton teaming up with Ginsberg again brought out a wonderful designer diary called 'Your Heiress Diary: Confess It All to Me'.
Paris Hilton was thrice engaged and her so-called wild partying life couldn't sustain them. She was first engaged to fashion model Jason Shaw in 2002, it was called off after eight months or so. Later she was engaged to a Greek shipping heir, Paris Latsis, which was called off within five months. She then got engaged to another shipping tycoon from Greek, Stavros Niarchos III, which also ended soon in May of 2006. In order to explore her own self, Paris Hilton banned herself from any sexual activity for one year beginning from July 2006.
